Live Stream Events - Are they Worth IT? Whats the point?

Just a few thoughts on building something bigger than just yourself. Exploring the concept of Live streaming events...

Whats the point?

Different reasons for different people. I mean, Personally, I'm out here to build an empire, but not selfishly. I'm always seeking creative ways to help artists achieve their goals. So what are Your Goals, and how can I help?

Different goals for different artists. So here's where the answer is "it depends"

Impact - Creating something special

So you're about to jump down my throat asking 'so what? its just a glorified open mic night for the masses that's incincere + dishonest, why would i want to be involved in a project like this?'

Here's the thing....

It could be that, without any thought as to why such an event might exist. So why do it? What is the benefit? Lets consider it...

Why Do this?

When you bring artists together, it starts to become a shared vision.
It allows for an extra element of (IE. A unique Vibe Something That you Can't find anywhere else)
It becomes something bigger than yourself
Provides an opportunity to network with other artists
It distributes the workload on the promotion side.
It allows for collaboration on the planning side,
Creates a collaborative environment for creating an entity with it's own 'culture'
It allows Artists who wouldn't otherwise, team up to 'make it happen'
It provides Moral support, The feeling that you're not just going-it-alone

Challenges

Requires a certain level of commitment
It'll need to be adaptive to accomodate individuals with different schedules
It Requires a certain level of Technical Savvy
How to connect artists who are the right fit
- In a similar Genre?
- For a Shared Cause?
- Some other common connection (friends IRL etc)

Where does it stand today?

As of Right now, we're looking into the viability and deciding our approach, and I'll be honest here, There has been some conflict around what is 'Right.'

I believe in the potential in creating something that is bigger than just 2 dudes doing a live stream, It's tough though when one sees the value in Promotion and bootstrapping, and the other just wants to play music, but doesn't really care about the overarching vision.

My goals

To make something that is as collaborative as possible
- Collaborative Vision
- Collaborative Networking
- Collaborative Outreach
To make it worth the effort
- To reach new fans
- To Have a platform to Play
- To get help to make something happen
To provide a level of support to help others who otherwise wouldn't be able to pull something like this off
To provide a safe space (so that you don't feel like you're going it alone)
